The Olympic Jumping Complex is in immediate need of the following positions. We will train all staff on how to effectively and safely perform their jobs.
Sr. Ticket Clerk
Job Summary:
The Sr. Ticket Clerk is part of the Guest Services team at the Olympic Jumping Complex and reports to the Guest Services Venue Supervisor. They are responsible for processing cash, debit, credit and check transitions using a Point of Sale Siriusware program. They assist the department by sharing knowledge and experience and supporting the office’s daily closeout responsibilities. Occasional travel may occur, and weekend and holiday work will be required.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Provide excellent guest service including responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
- Train and educate Ticket Sales Clerks and guest Services Representatives
- Assist with daily cash-outs
- Effectively coordinate and communicate with other departments as needed
- Operate a Point of Sale (POS) for various operations including but not limited to season pass sales, assist guests with ticketing and season pass issues, sell all products, issue refunds, and process reservations
- Process and maintain pass files as needed
- Providing accurate daily reports
- Make sure all POS equipment is working properly and timely report any issues to IT;
- Timely and effectively communicate with the Finance Office as needed to address and resolve relevant issues
- Always work safely following all training and ORDA safety protocols and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Customer service experience of a minimum of 2 years
- Ability to demonstrate a professional appearance and manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Wage/Salary:
This position is identified as a Grade 13 on the ORDA/CSEA schedule with a rate of $20.39 per hour. General Manager
Position Overview
The General Manager, Olympic Sports Complex & Olympic Jumping Complex (OSC/OJC) is the key leadership role for these two venues and is responsible for establishing, implementing and overseeing operating and service standards that ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the venue. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Legacy Venues Operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
The General Manager’s role is key in maintaining the efficient day to day operation of the venues. The position is responsible for leading the venues’ teams with vision and integrity and a commitment to providing an exceptional guest and athlete experience while maintaining a long-term focus on the sustainability of the business and the environment. Regular duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership to venues’ management staff in the management of the day to day operation, meeting guest expectations
- In conjunction with the OSC/OJC Business & Guest Operations Manager oversee revenue and expense management
- Work with the venues’ management staff on the implementation and understanding of policy management
- In conjunction with the People & Organization Development department oversee employee management, including recruitment, training and development and employee/labor relations
- Assess staff development needs for training and skills development, as well as personal career development
- Work with administrative departments on fiscal management and events coordination
- Work with planners, architects, engineers, and construction inspectors on venue development projects
- Maintain good communication within the corporate organization, as well as with State and local government officials and sports and community partners
- Play a key role in conflict resolution
- Act as the chief spokesperson for the venues, and coordinates with the Communications department on messaging and public relations
- Be an active member in the community and engage in speaking invitations and meeting local government officials and leaders of the local business community
Skills and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Sports Management, Leadership or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a multi-venue complex, preferably in a non-profit or public sector organization
- Excellent leadership and communications skills
- Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
Salary Range and Benefits:
This position has a minimum salary of $95,310 and a maximum salary of $142,965 per year. The hiring range for this specific position is $95,310 – $104,841 per year. Final offer will be within the hiring range and will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

Human Resources Coordinator
Position Overview:
The People and Organization Development function within the ORDA organization is managed through a centralized/de-centralized structure. The centralized function is responsible for the overall development and management of the ORDA People and Organization Development Program and provides guidance and direction for its implementation at each ORDA Venue. The HR Coordinator is a generalist who directs, guides and manages the overall delivery of employee policies, programs and services at OSC/OJC and is responsible for maintaining a positive and engaging workplace culture according to ORDA values and policies, motivating employees, promoting an environment of high level of teamwork with accountability and communication at the Venue. Promoting ORDA values and shaping a positive culture is a vital aspect of ORDA’s People and Organization Development program. The HR Coordinator is a leadership position and reports functionally to the Olympic Sports Complex and Olympic Jumping Complex General Manager and administratively to the ORDA Director of People & Organization Development
Major areas of responsibility are:
- Recruitment and staffing-in coordination with Employee Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The HR Coordinator manages Human Resources practices and objectives at OSC/OJC to provide an employee-oriented, high-performance workplace culture, emphasizing quality, productivity and high-level standards that support the recruitment, employment, and ongoing development of a qualified and motivated team of employees. She/he coordinates and administers the implementation of policies, programs and services developed and created by the central People & Organization Development department and approved by Executive Management.
Responsibilities of the HR Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
Policy documentation and communications
- Administers HR policies, programs, procedures, and guidelines that are aligned with ORDA’s overall business strategy
- Make recommendations to Central People & Organization Development regarding Venue organizational planning, job design, and Venue staffing needs
- Provides input to employee policies development
- Develops and monitors an annual department budget that includes recruitment, training and development, employee relations services, employee recognition, and administration.
- Utilizes and maintains the HR Management System to the company’s management and recordkeeping advantage
Recruitment/ Onboarding/Development
- Coordinates and manages the external and internal recruitment, selection and employment process
- Maintains established conditions of employment and employee profiles to be used in recruitment
- Implements and leads the recruiting and hiring practices for the Venue
- conducts screening interviews for all candidates; participates in the selection process
- Conducts employee onboarding and helps organize training & development initiatives
- Gathers and analyzes data such as employee turnover rates
- Maintains employee files and records in electronic and paper form
Orientation/Training
- Assesses training needs and monitors training programs
- Administers the in-house employee training strategy and system that addresses Venue training needs, including new employee orientation, skills development, and management development
- Assists managers with and coordinates the selection and contracting of external training programs, as needed
- Partners with Venue management to communicate employee policies, procedures, programs and laws
- Ensures compliance with all existing governmental, labor, legal and government reporting requirements.
Employee Communication, relations and morale
- Communicates and monitors Venue workplace culture so that it supports the company’s goals and promotes employee engagement
- Supports current and future business needs through programs that support employee development, engagement, motivation and retention

- Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promotes a high level of employee morale and motivation.

Counseling and Services
- Monitors and advises managers and supervisors in the application of progressive discipline
- Monitors the performance improvement process with non-performing employees.
- Administers and monitors the company complaint procedure.
- Reviews and guides management recommendations for terminations; forwards to the Director of People & Organization Development for approval
- Conducts and documents investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth; makes recommendations for resolution, as needed, to the Director of People & Organization Development.
- Encourages employee communication and feedback through company meetings, suggestion program, employee opinion surveys, newsletters, one-on-one meetings, and ORDA’s internet site.
- Provides support to employees for various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolves any issues that may arise, to include all aspects of Workers Compensation
- Organizes and monitors exit interviews
- Ensure necessary coding for any events and capital projects are accurately completed in payroll
- Ensures accuracy of payroll and approves all Timecards for transmit.

Skills and Qualifications
- BSc/BA in Business administration or relevant field or work equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in human resources management in leisure, outdoor recreation or hospitality operations, or within the service industry
- Certification and/or additional training in Human Resources management, such as SHRM, PHR or SPHR, would be a plus
- Understanding of general employee policies and procedures
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs
- Aptitude in problem-solving

Wage/Salary:
The salary range for this position is $55,726 to $80,245. The hiring range for this specific position is $55,726 – $61,298 per year. Final offer will be within the hiring range and will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

Area Maintenance – Maintenance Assistant 2
Job Summary:
Be a part of the essential team that maintains the iconic sports and recreating venues in Lake Placid! The area maintenance team supports the day-to-day operations of buildings, grounds, competition and recreational facilities at Mt Van Hoevenberg and the Olympic Jumping Complex. Work as a team with other venue departments to ensure safety, functionality and a high level of readiness for both world-class athletes and for the visiting public.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Complete general building and/or area maintenance such as landscaping, snow removal, and equipment maintenance.
- Performs landscaping and beautification including planting, weeding, pruning, and plant care.
- Assures everything is neat and orderly, especially in public areas.
- Assists with cleaning, and light janitorial duties, as needed
- Operate and maintain equipment, machinery and systems.
- Respond to maintenance issues.
- Shows aptitude and initiative in their area of work. Is attentive, focused and engaged.
- Routinely produces quality results.
- Effectively and positively communicates with supervisor and team.
- Capable of leading less experienced staff on assigned tasks or projects.

Hill Maintenance Staff
Be a part of the essential team that prepares and maintains the world cup level ski jumping hills at the iconic Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid! The general maintenance team supports day to day operations, working as a team with the other venue departments to ensure a high level of readiness for both world class athletes and for visiting general public. In the winter months tasks include snow removal, snow making, snow and ice preparation on the ski jumping hills as well as event preparation and set up. Additional responsibilities include general grounds keeping, maintenance projects and improvements around the venue.
Desired skills of the position include but are not limited to; good knowledge of tools, equipment, machinery, carpentry, plumbing and rigging.
Successful candidates will perform a variety of jobs including minor laboring tasks, general maintenance, as well as operation of a wide array of equipment including, but not limited to, front-end loaders, road-graders, tractor mowers, and snowplows. Nights, weekends and holiday work will be required. Applicants should have at least one year’s experience related to the above and possession of a valid/clean New York State Driver’s License. Classified as Maintenance Assistants with an entry rate of $19.99 per hour, plus benefits as defined under the CSEA contract. Premium pay for evening/night work as well as work on holidays. Job Summary: Become a part of the facilities maintenance team at Mt Van Hoevenberg and the Olympic Jumping Complex as our night security person. This individual is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our premises during the evening and night shift.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Monitor and patrol the premises regularly to establish and maintain a security presence.
- Control access to the facility.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds for possible safety and security issues and to observe operational processes.
- Respond to alarms, notifications, incidents and emergencies ensuring escalation and reporting to proper individuals or emergency service providers.
- Other operations and maintenance duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications: Driver’s license. Proven experience in security operations preferably in similar role or related field, strong knowledge of security procedures, ability to remain calm and respond effectively in a high-pressure situation. Excellent communication skills

Building Maintenance – Cleaner

Job Summary: Join our building maintenance team at Mt Van Hoevenberg and the Olympic Jumping Complex as a cleaner. Cleaners play a critical role in the daily operation and presentation of our lodges and buildings. They will also assist our building readiness department in event set up and tear down throughout the year.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and sanitizing all areas of the facility.
- Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and well-maintained.
- Set up and break down event spaces according to specific requirements, including arranging tables, chairs, and equipment.
- Assist with maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and notifying supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
- Handle basic maintenance tasks such as painting and minor repairs.
- Ensure all cleaning and set up tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Report damage, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to management.
- Other operations and maintenance duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: Ability to follow instructions, read and follow check lists, manuals and safety instructions, operating procedures, and other documentation is required. The candidate will have verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude and a good work ethic. Valid drivers license is required. Physically capable of climbing ladders and lifting up to 30 lbs.
Wage/Salary:
This position is identified as a Grade 13 on the ORDA/CSEA schedule with an entry rate of $19.99 per hour.
